Yashasvi Jaiswal’s journey into stardom is nothing short of a fairytale. Born on December 28, 2001, in Uttar Pradesh, Yashasvi Jaiswal moved to Mumbai at the age of 13 to chase his cricketing dreams at the famous Azad Maidan. With ample natural talent and diligence to match, there was no stopping him as he started to make his mark for the Mumbai cricket team at a young age. In 2019, he etched his name in the record books by becoming the youngest double centurion in List A cricket, scoring a remarkable 203 off 154 balls against Jharkhand. The top scorer at the Under-19 World Cup in 2020, Yashasvi Jaiswal was picked up by Rajasthan Royals at the IPL auction the same year. He made his IPL debut against Chennai Super Kings before notching up his maiden IPL half-century against the same team a year later, in IPL 2021. Jaiswal was gradually blooded into the Royals team before stepping up in a huge way in IPL 2023, amassing 625 runs at a blistering strike rate of 163.61. He scored five fifties that season and a maiden IPL century against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede. His 13-ball 50 against KKR that season is still the fastest IPL fifty in history. Though not as impressive as in 2023, Jaiswal tallied an enviable tally of 435 runs in IPL 2024, including another century against MI. He was retained by the Royals for IPL 2025. On the international stage, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s debut Test series against the West Indies in 2023 was unforgettable. He scored a commanding 171 in his first Test innings and continued his form in early 2024 during the India vs England Test series, amassing 712 runs to be named Player of the Series. He also helped India win the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and a gold medal in the 2023 Asian Games.
