One of the seasoned campaigners in the IPL, Sandeep Sharma has well over 100 wickets and more than 10 years of experience under his belt. Sandeep Sharma made his IPL debut for Punjab Kings in 2013 and was a consistent performer for them before joining the Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2018. In IPL 2017, he became the first bowler to get the trio of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers out in the same game. Following three solid seasons with SRH, the veteran pacer’s form dipped in 2021. Sandeep Sharma returned to PBKS for IPL 2022 but was unable to rediscover his form. He had accounted for a total of five wickets in 12 matches in these two seasons. Unsold in the IPL 2023 auction, Sandeep Sharma found a new lease of life after being drafted in by the Rajasthan Royals as an injury replacement for Prasidh Krishna. Sandeep Sharma turned out to be a revelation for the Royals in IPL 2023 and 2024, picking up 23 wickets over the two seasons. At the Royals, Sandeep Sharma also reinvented himself as a death-overs bowler. Primarily a new ball bowler before the transition, Sandeep Sharma is also the IPL’s third-best bowler in powerplays. He has been retained by the Royals for IPL 2025 and will look to continue his progress. Sandeep Sharma, who plays for Chandigarh in domestic cricket, represented India at two Under-19 World Cups and won the trophy in 2012. The Patiala-born pacer has also made two T20I appearances for the Indian cricket team - both against Zimbabwe in 2015.
