A Rajasthan Royals fan growing up, Kunal Singh Rathore was unearthed through the Royals Colts programme, the team’s grassroots programme to identify and nurture young talents. Having made his first-class debut for the Rajasthan cricket team in 2022, a solid showing at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy that year earned the Kota-born player a spot in the Rajasthan Royals team for IPL 2023, making him the first player from his city to bag an IPL contract. Rathore has impressed in domestic cricket with consistent showings for the Rajasthan team. In the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season, Rathore scored 245 runs, including a maiden first-class century against Manipur, and affected 19 dismissals with the glove. He also tallied 250 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and affected 24 dismissals, helping Rajasthan reach the finals. Kunal Singh Rathore was bought back by the Royals at the IPL 2025 mega auction.
