Yashasvi Jaiswal is plying his trade for Team B in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024-25, with one eye fixed on the two-match India vs Bangladesh Test series, slated to begin on September 19.

Jaiswal firmly believes that consistency is crucial in red-ball cricket. He knows that the more disciplined he is with his practice and preparation, the more his game will evolve and improve.

"I have worked hard to keep up my form and continue to do so to ensure I maintain it,” Jaiswal told Jio Cinema. “The more consistent I stay with my practice and preparation, my results will improve.

“I don't overthink, I just need to prepare well and keep improving myself as a player. The more I repeat these steps, the better I'll get."

The 22-year-old Jaiswal has become a vital cog in India’s Test team. He has scored 1028 runs in just nine matches. It includes three centuries and four fifties, and a highest score of 214 not out. His average stands at an exceptional 68.53.

"Any opportunity to play for India is incredible, and representing the country is the biggest motivation that I have,” said the young Indian opener.

India’s squad for the series against Bangladesh will be announced by BCCI after the first round of Duleep Trophy 2024-25 is over.

“It's a great opportunity whenever we have the chance to play the Duleep or Ranji Trophy,” he said. “I hope I'll enjoy my game. I'll try my best."

Jaiswal, who plays for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, scored 30 runs off 59 balls in the first innings against Team A on Thursday, which included six fours.
