The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, the premier domestic 50-over tournament in India, is scheduled to be held from December 21 to January 18 across various venues nationwide.
The Vijay Hazare Trophy will be available on live streaming and select matches will also be available on telecast from January 9 onwards.
The 32nd edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy will see 38 teams compete for the title. The teams have been split into five pools. Groups A, B and C will comprise eight teams while D and E will have seven.

- Group A: Haryana, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Jharkhand, Goa, Manipur, Assam
- Group B: Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Services, Railways, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Meghalaya, Sikkim
- Group C: Karnataka, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Saurashtra, Punjab, Pondicherry, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland
- Group D: Tamil Nadu, Vidarbha, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Mizoram
- Group E: Bengal, Kerala, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Baroda, Bihar
A total of six Rajasthan Royals players - Kumar Kartikeya, Sandeep Sharma, Yudhvir Singh, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Shubham Dubey and Nitish Rana - will be in action at the tournament.
At the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Kumar Kartikeya claimed 17 wickets in 10 matches for Madhya Pradesh, finishing as the tournament’s second-highest wicket-taker. He played six matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy last season, picking up 14 wickets at an economy of 4.09.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Sharma bagged nine wickets in seven matches at SMAT 2024 at an economy of 7.48. Yudhvir Singh was equally impressive with the ball for Jammu and Kashmir, picking up seven wickets in as many matches at an economy of 7.22.
The 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who recently became the youngest player to earn an Indian Premier League (IPL) contract, will play for Bihar after having a decent campaign in the Under-19 Asia Cup 2024, where he scored 67 off 36 to help India beat Sri Lanka in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Nitish Rana will use his experience of over 100 IPL matches to bounce back at the Vijay Hazare Trophy after a quiet SMAT campaign. He will represent Uttar Pradesh. Shubham Dubey, who is making a name for himself with his finishing lower down the order, will represent Vidarbha.
Each team at the Vijay Hazare Trophy will play the other teams in its respective group in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockouts.
The five table toppers, along with the best second team from across groups based on points or Net Run Rate, will qualify directly for the quarter-finals. The remaining four second-placed teams will play in the preliminary quarter-finals.
Tamil Nadu are the most successful team in the competition’s history with five titles. Haryana are the defending champions, having defeated Rajasthan by 30 runs in the final.
