Less than a fortnight since becoming the youngest debutant in the Indian Premier League, Rajasthan Royals’ Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shattered a stack of records with an inspired century against Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday.
At 14 years and 32 days old, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored a sensational 101 off just 38 balls against GT to become the youngest player to score a century in the IPL and T20 cricket as a whole.

His ton, which took just 35 balls to register is also the fastest century by an Indian player in the IPL and the second-fastest of all time, just five balls slower than Chris Gayle’s historic innings from 2013.
Sooryavanshi was making only his third appearance in the IPL.

Chasing GT’s total of 209, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi walked in to open the batting for the Royals with Yashasvi Jaiswal and signalled his intent early on in Monday’s match by hauling Mohammed Siraj for massive six off the second ball he faced in the innings.
The teenager then picked out Ishant Sharma for some special treatment as he took the veteran pacer for 26 runs (three sixes and two fours) in the fourth over.
The 14-year-old eventually brought up his 50 in 17 balls by hitting Washington Sundar for two sixes and a four within a span of just four deliveries in the fifth over. It was the fastest fifty of IPL 2025.
It would have been enough for the record for the youngest T20 and IPL half-centurion in history but Vaibhav had other ideas.
He continued his rampage to bring up his century with a trademark six off Rashid Khan. Prasidh Krishna eventually dismissed him in the next over.
However, the 35-ball ton is the fastest century scored by an Indian player in the IPL and the second-fastest of all time.
