Rajasthan Royals have assembled a formidable squad for the IPL 2025, combining a fearsome batting unit led by captain Sanju Samson with a potent bowling battery spearheaded by Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma.
The Royals made a strong statement in their season-opener, scoring their highest IPL total of 242/6 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Their bowling class, meanwhile, was on display when they defended 182 against Chennai Super Kings at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati.
So far in IPL 2025, Yashasvi Jaiswal is leading the charge for the Royals with the bat. The youngster has amassed 233 runs from the first seven matches.
Jaiswal’s standout performance came against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where he blazed his way to 75 off just 47 balls at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Jos Buttler’s tally of 863 runs in IPL 2022 remains the highest by a Rajasthan Royals batter in a single season. He won the Orange Cap that year. Meanwhile, Jaiswal’s 625-run tally in IPL 2023 is the highest scored by an uncapped Royals player in a season.
At the top of the all-time charts, Virat Kohli’s 973-run campaign in IPL 2016 remains untouched. He scored 741 runs to finish as the top run-getter last year.
Among the top wicket-takers for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, Jofra Archer, Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana jointly lead the list with seven scalps each.

Rajasthan Royals’ Sohail Tanvir won the Purple Cap in the inaugural edition when the team lifted the trophy in Navi Mumbai. He picked up 22 wickets that season. Yuzvendra Chahal’s tally of 27 wickets earned him the Purple Cap in 2022 - the second time a Royal finished as a top wicket-taker in a season.
Royals’ James Faulkner had a standout season in 2013, taking 28 wickets from 16 matches. However, he finished second in the top wicket-takers’ list behind Chennai Super Kings’ Dwayne Bravo, who took 32 wickets that season for a record that was equalled by Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Harshal Patel in IPL 2021.
