Indian legend Ravi Shastri has seen it all but even he admits that the fearless approach of Vaibhav Suryavanshi at IPL 2025 has left him amazed.

Speaking on ‘The ICC Review’ with Sanjana Ganesan, Shastri named Vaibhav among a standout quartet of youngsters who, in his eyes, have the talent to make it big in future.

The 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was mentioned alongside Chennai Super Kings’ Ayush Mhatre and Punjab Kings’ opening duo of Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh.

Vaibhav has captured the imagination of one and all with his bold style, highlighted by his explosive IPL debut against Lucknow Super Giants, where he smashed a six off his very first ball faced.

“I think the first shot he played, that would have taken everyone's breath away," Shastri said.

Shastri also pointed out that bowlers would start targeting Vaibhav with "lots of short stuff" after seeing his fearless start.

“When you tonk someone's first ball for six, then you (are) shown no mercy. You don't care whether he's 14 or 12 or 20 years old,” Shastri said.

“The menu is the same that you dish out. He’ll have to get used to that and once we see him handling that, then you can make a proper judgment.”

Vaibhav scored a whirlwind 34 off 20 on debut against Lucknow Super Giants after coming into the team as an Impact Player in place of an injured Sanju Samson. His innings included three sixes and a two fours.

In the next match, Vaibhav scored 16 off 12 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He hit two maximums during his short stay.

Rajasthan Royals will face Gujarat Titans in their next match on Monday.
