Trent Boult was the star of the match in the Royals’ previous win over Mumbai Indians. He picked up 3/22 from four overs including a twin-strike in the first over to take control early in the match. Boult has struck three times in the first over in IPL 2024, the most for any bowler this season.

Chahal is on the verge of scaling the 200-wicket milestone in the IPL and will be the first bowler to achieve the feat in the history of the tournament if he adds to his current tally of 199 scalps.

Chahal, who has picked up at least a wicket in every match this season, is also the leading wicket-taker against MI in the current Royals squad with 28 dismissals. The leg spinner along with Ravichandran Ashwin lead the way with a total of 24 wickets in the IPL at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Buttler scored yet another century for the Royals, his seventh in total and second while chasing in this season. He averages a mammoth 220 in run chases which is the highest for any player with a minimum of three innings in IPL 2024.

Buttler scored an unbeaten 107 off just 60 balls, including nine fours and six sixes, in the last-ball win to ensure that the Royals never lost a match when the Englishman scored a hundred. Buttler is just two runs short of scoring 500 runs against MI in the IPL.

Riyan Parag (34 off 14 balls) and Rovman Powell (26 off 13 balls) played crucial cameos to support Buttler and take the Royals home at Kolkata. Both Rovman Powell and Shimron Hetmyer have chipped in during the later stages of the Royals batting in this IPL to help the team average over 12 runs an over in the last five overs this season.
