The BCCI on Wednesday announced the India A squads for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has had a fantastic year with the bat so far, has been called up for his first stint with the A team.

Earlier in the year, the southpaw finished as a finalist with Rajasthan Royals in the IPL after putting up some match-winning performances. It was followed by a successful Ranji Trophy stint, where his twin hundreds in the semi-final powered Mumbai to the final. He then went on to make his Duleep Trophy debut with West Zone, where he smashed his first-ever double hundred in first-class cricket in the quarter final.

Yashasvi’s form in the longer format continued in T20 cricket as well. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he amassed 266 runs in 10 games en route Mumbai’s title-winning campaign. His run-scoring spree saw him becoming the joint-fastest Indian batter to 1000 first-class runs in September. Then came the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he scored back-to-back hundreds and racked up nearly 400 runs before the final league game on November 26.
