All IPL-bound players travelling from overseas and the recently-concluded Caribbean Premier League (CPL) have joined the Rajasthan Royals camp in Dubai, as we gear up for the second half of the season.

South African stars David Miller and Tabraiz Shamsi flew in straight from their bio-bubble in Colombo and arrived on 15th September. Meanwhile, our CPL contingent of Evin Lewis, Glenn Phillips, and Oshane Thomas joined us in Dubai a day later. Liam Livingstone & Mustafizur Rahman both arrived earlier and are in quarantine at the moment.

Morris heaps praise on Shamsi

Chris Morris, who has been with the Royals squad in Dubai for two weeks, is looking forward to meeting and train with the new faces in the squad, and he’s asked one and all to look out for ‘magician’ Shamsi on the field.

“Yeah it’s good to see more South Africans joining the squad, Tabraiz Shamsi is an amateur magician so, everyone, look out for his tricks not just on the cricket field (laughs). He literally has got something up his sleeve always - that’s true. I mean, we\"ve read a lot about it, and 100% the man\"s a genius.

“But yeah, really excited to meet the new boys. I mean, there are some guys that are coming back to the squad. But I think we\"ve got a lot of exciting, exciting talent coming to the squad and hopefully, we can push for those playoff spots and maybe even further,” he said in the Royals Podcast.

Rajasthan Royals are scheduled to lock horns with Punjab Kings, at the Dubai International Stadium, on September 21 as the second half of the IPL kicks off.
