Big IPL News coming out of the BCCI was the announcement that the 2019 VIVO Indian Premier League will be hosted entirely in India and commence from March 23rd, 2019.

The Hon'ble Supreme Court of India appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Tuesday met in New Delhi to discuss the VIVO IPL 2019 venues and window.

Based on the preliminary discussions with the appropriate central and state agencies / authorities, it was decided that the 12th edition of the world's most popular and competitive T20 tournament will be scheduled to be played in India.

It is proposed that the VIVO IPL 2019 will commence on March 23, 2019. The detailed schedule will be finalised in consultation with the appropriate authorities.

The COA will then have detailed discussion with all the Stakeholders before releasing the VIVO IPL 2019 Schedule.

Ranjit Barthakur, Executive Chairman & CEO of Rajasthan Royals, commented on this breaking news saying “The Royals are delighted to play the IPL in India, where it belongs. We are supportive of the BCCI leadership along with the State Cricket Associations as well as the Central and State Governments for hosting the World’s most prestigious and competitive T20 Tournament in India.”

The Royals ended their last IPL campaign in 4th and reached the Playoffs. With quality additions to their squad during the Auction, the Royals will be looking to go a few steps further and challenge for the trophy.
