Rajasthan, known for its vast deserts and rich cultural heritage, faces a significant challenge in providing access to clean energy to its populace. The state's energy needs are predominantly met by conventional sources, posing environmental, economic, and social challenges. Addressing the issue of access to clean energy is crucial for sustainable development and improving the quality of life for Rajasthan's residents.
Despite its immense potential for renewable energy, including solar and wind power, Rajasthan continues to grapple with limited access to clean energy sources.
We have been working on a unique model wherein we train rural women through a literacy-agnostic curriculum at a 5-month residential training. They are trained not only in skills to become solar engineers but also become trainers for digital & financial literacy for women in their villages.
They return to their villages and each woman becomes responsible for electrifying and maintaining 50 homes.
