Some people choose their favourite team. Others, however, are chosen!
As for me, Rajasthan Royals chose me back in 2008.
How I fell in love with Rajasthan Royals
I still remember watching the inaugural IPL season unfold - every game, every moment, every underdog victory that the Royals pulled off felt like a personal triumph.
There was something special about that team led by the legendary Shane Warne that made them impossible to ignore.
Warne’s Royals weren’t just playing cricket; they were rewriting the rules of the game. That season ended in glory and I knew there was no turning back - I was a Royal for life.
The Royals pride burns bright
Fast forward to today, and my love for the Royals has only deepened. I’ve celebrated stunning victories, agonised over heartbreaking losses and lived every emotion in between.
Through the years, watching players like Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal bring their unique brilliance to the field has been an absolute joy.
But it’s not just the big names that make the team special - it’s the belief in young talent, the fearless cricket, the fighting spirit. This team doesn’t only play for wins; they play for something bigger.
A Royal first, everything else can wait
By profession, I work in the HR and CSR department for an NBFC and I lead a busy life in Mumbai. But no matter how packed my schedule is, whenever the Royals play, everything else takes a backseat.
Cricket isn’t just entertainment for me - it’s an emotion. And Rajasthan Royals - they’re family.
Like every fan, I dream of seeing my team lift the IPL trophy again. But beyond that, I have a bigger dream.
I want to see the Royals community grow - fans in every city, in every corner of the world, wearing pink with pride, chanting Halla Bol! in unison. I want the passion for the Royals to spread like wildfire, beyond just match days, beyond just seasons.
Because being a Royals fan isn’t just about celebrating wins. It’s about believing in a journey, about supporting a team that never gives up, about being part of something bigger than just cricket.
And that’s why, no matter what happens, I’ll always be here - cheering, supporting, and wearing my Royals pink with pride.
Once a Royal, always a Royal.
